‘The Captain and the Mermaid’
Another Vodou piece: this is Agwe, master of the sea and his wife La Sirene, the mermaid whose form can be made out in the wet sand of the shore. Agwe is normally depicted on a boat dressed as a sea admiral but I wanted to make him more of the power of the sea itself!
