Saint David

 Icon of David, patron saint of Wales, holding a book of prayer and accompanied by his dove and beloved bell ‘Bangu’. I wanted to depict David as young, enigmatic, and hopeful. His cloak bears the cross of St. David’s and the aqua blue colour is inspired by his epithet Dyfrwr – ‘the Waterman’. Acrylic and leaf metal on wood (8in x 12in).
