Saint Canna

This Celtic Saint was commissioned for the opening of St Canna’s Ale House in Cardiff. She is also the name sake of the localities Pontcanna and Canton. Known as somewhat of a ‘mother of the saints’ she is pictured here on a stone known as ‘St Canna’s Chair’ which is found in Carmarthenshire. (Copyright Nic Phillips 2017 Acrylic and leaf metal on wood 10 x 12 in)
