Saint Levan

St LevanThe Cornish saint of the village of the same name, situated close to the Minack open air theatre. Legends of St Levan revolve around fishing, particularly the story of the two fish on one hook, which is represented in the Celtic carvings on either side of the scene. The beach where Levan fished and which his chapel and well overlooked is Porthchapel. His church nearby houses a boulder on which Levan set a prophesy about the end of the world.
